Heraclée Beach
The preserved authenticity of La Croix Valmer
An idyllic beach covered in fine sand, with exceptionally clear water and views of the Îles d’Or, Heraclea Beach offers a chance to escape and relax as you watch magical sunsets.
It is an ideal beach for those seeking peace and quiet, nature, and the gentle climate of the south, far from the summer crowds, as it is less well known than its neighbors. However, Heraclea Beach offers all the advantages of a large beach: fine sand, a family-friendly area (a beach on a human scale), restaurants and beach establishments nearby, easy access, and parking just a few steps away. You will be charmed by its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere: it embodies pure Mediterranean charm.
Heraclea Beach is one of those places that captures the authentic spirit of the Croisian coastline: with its unspoiled landscapes, Provençal atmosphere, and discreet friendliness, it reflects the spirit of La Vraie Nature de La Croix Valmer. Its natural environment, dotted with typical Mediterranean vegetation, invites you to slow down and savor every moment. At sunset, the golden light sets the beach and surrounding hills ablaze: a spectacle that regulars never miss.
A little history: its name is reminiscent of 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 in memory of the Ligurians who settled there nearly three centuries ago. According to legend, Heracles crossed the Mediterranean to accomplish his labors and passed by the Var coastline, leaving his mark on the toponymy of several places. The word “Héraclée” is thus a direct reference to the hero who protected sailors and travelers, a symbol of strength, courage, and overcoming adversity. In La Croix Valmer, Heraclea Beach takes its name from this mythology, but also from the ancient Greek city of Heraclea, mentioned by some historians as an ancient port located between Cavalaire and Saint-Tropez. Today, Heraclea Beach remains a place where the past and present come together: between its name inherited from Greek mythology and the land trodden by the Ligurians, it reminds us that La Croix Valmer is much more than a seaside destination: it is a living territory, witness to a long history between man and the Mediterranean.
400 meters of fine sand, facing the Îles d’Or, await you for a moment of escape and relaxation, offering magical sunsets.
